Finished another painting today... i had the background done for ages and i always though it didn't look finished... so i re-worked, did loads of sketches and used lots of ink! I ended up with a painting i love :) pics soon

Fawn

Half way through the 'Fawn' pattern from gourmetamigugumi.com , i had a little trouble with some of the stitches (not afraid to tell you!) so i asked Beth for some help, she is awesome and replied back asap, so i wasn't stopped for long. The eyes i have used are a little larger, i think it works :)
i am starting legs soon... stay tuned :)

Been a long time...sorry :)

Well, well, well it has sure been a while!

2011 already!!!

I am going to be a little boring and play catch -up... tune in or out as you please... so hear goes.
Since i last blogged a lot has happened, where to start? (at the beginning lol)

I continued to make amigurumi, broadening my skills and all that. I still love GourmetAmigurumi and hope she is well, here site sure has had an update! looks great - check it out! I don't know if i told you or not? I purchased a fawn pattern off her, i was so excited! but am yet to actually make it! lol i will get there!

OK the main thing that has happened since we last chatted... i now have a Etsy.com website - Alleycatcraft.Etsy.com. So you can check that out too... all my crafty ideas and such! I have also been making cute singlets with designs on them and selling them in a designer shop in my home town, they have been well received and have kept me busy - another excuse as to why i haven't blogged. Some of the singlets are on my Etsy shop (you already know that because you have clicked on the hyperlink above :)).

My sister is in labour at the moment, so i am excited about being an aunt again!!! :) she is having a boy (her first), so i will be an aunt of two nephews. This has helped fuel my creative passion for craft and kept me on track... I have also been making mobiles out of felt, you can't find many mobiles that aren't manufactured from big companies around where i live, so i thought i would rectify the problem! I will post some pictures, i you like them or want me to make a custom one, convo me on my Etsy shop :).

I have been getting on with my art again, mainly in acrylic, although I really want to try H2O oils, i love oil paint although i am an impatient person and they take too long to dry (hence why i paint mainly in acrylic), the H2O's take longer than acrylics but faster than oils to dry and they are water clean-up! sound like just what i need :) and working in an art store gives me a ready supply, so if i like them i will let you know (may even do a step by step for you all to follow). so stay tuned ;)

An art show is coming up in my town soon, so i will also be busy painting for that, i will post some picks of my entry's for you to comment on ( good or bad is always welcome).

On to my cooking adventures, I have always wanted to make sourdough from scratch but when ever i started to research it, the process takes time and sounds so complex i always gave up! I finally started! I'm at work now, and as we speak the dough is rising (i hope ) at home! If it all works i am thinking about doing a step by step for all you fellow sourdough lovers!! It really isn't as hard as i thought, it's dare i say easy!!!!!! so keep turned for that too :)

Christmas was so great last year (2010) I made Christmas cake and pudding from scratch(ing) lol my nephew says scratching... anyway, they were awesome! and well received, i now have to make them every year *sigh

Also used Nigella Lawson's Christmas pie recipe and it was also well received find it here and i will blog the recipes of my pudding and cake later.

*Just in* My nephew was just born!!!!!! :)

OK, so don't want to be working right now but o-well! The visiting hours aren't until 2 anyway...

moving right along... Poppet turned 1 and had her 2nd Christmas (2010) she is well - i will post some more pics :)

I also worked with Fimo again last year, and loved it!! lol i made a whole heap of stuff at work with it and sold so much Fimo that day, lol. My mission is to get as many people back on Fimo as possible! *if you don't know what Fimo is stay tuned! Pics to come!

what else?

OK that's all i can think of at the moment, considering my nephew was just born i think i am doing well thinking at all!

Blog soon - promise!

Hi all, just put some more photo's of other Amigurumi I have done on site. Some from Tamie Snow and others from patterns i found on the net, I will post the sites under the photos in case you want to give them a go too. I'm working on a humanoid Amigurumi at the moment. Elly (above) was my first humanoid Amigurumi, once I made her I was so excited I scoured the net for more free patterns, I came across Elizabeth D's blog and fell in love with her stuff, as i have said in previous blogs I even bought a pattern from her. She made me want to try and create my own humanoid Amigurumi, so I have been painstakingly trying to write my own pattern for about 3 weeks now, and can I tell you it doesn't come easy to me, But hey I'm powering on and I hope soon you will be looking at some of my own one of a kind Amieegurumi!!!!! Cheers!

Good morning crafters!!! Here are some pic's of my first ever Amigurumi :) I found the pattern on this website http://pepperberry.typepad.com/my_weblog/amigurumi-alien-pattern.html
I saw him and just thought he was the cutest little alien I had ever seen!

Slowly but surely I will have more to show...

I also just finished my first ever crochet dog coat. Poppet is only 5 months and I know she is going to get bigger *sad face* so I didn't want to buy her a coat just to have her grow out of it in 5 min so I made one. I did a little research on the internet as I have never crochet anything other than warm blankets, I found a whole bunch of patterns for free but they weren't what I wanted!! So I ventured in blind, just crocheting a few granny squares, sewed them together for a base, added some half double crochet around the whole thing (including leg holes *sigh*) continued with them up the neck and hey presto! It fit and cost about $2 to make so, happy days! :D

This is Poppet by the way :) or also known as Mrs Pop, Pop, Popup, Poffertjer, Pancakes, Dutch Pancakes, Crazy and Cookies. She is my little princess and I had been waiting a long time for her, she is my first real pet. I don't count fish or rabbits sorry :)

It's 8 am and I have some felt to get for my new Amigurumi so I will chat soon. Happy crafting!!
Hi there family & friends & anyone else who could possibly be interested! Welcome fellow crafters! :) I do hope you will bear with me while i learn the basics of site building and management.

So, here is my first blog post! OK here goes, since I mainly started this blog to share with the crafting communities, I’ll start with some projects I’ve been working on (or am planning t0 work on). I would love to work on my sewing skills, making bags and skirts that kind of thing! Every time pay day comes around my mouth fills with saliva at the thought of traveling to spotlight to look at material and craft!!! Although it is so much more limited here. I probably need to buy more online! I did just purchase my first online pattern at Etzy (will figure out links soon enough!) it was an Amigurumi Fawn by Elisabeth D of Gourmet Amigurumi who in my opinion is in a league of her own!!! Check out her site if you have a chance!! Seriously my idol!! So i have that to go on with... I also have 2-3 dolls on the go at the moment, it's all experimental at this stage but you never know!

I have only just found Amigurumi ( i think it means crochet dolls in Japanese?) i was in a book store and saw Tamie Snow's book and i just couldn't put it back on the shelf! So for the last 3 weeks i have been crocheting like mad XD! One of my fingers is so swollen and hurts so much, but i just can't stop. The things we do for the love of craft! :P

I’ll need to work out Flickr or something like that to get the photos happening as well! I have a few Amigurumi i have completed from Tamie Snow's book and from patterns i found on the internet, once i have the photo side of things worked out i will post the links with the photo's if your interested?

Ok ok enough rambling on it's past 11 pm an i got up at 6 am so I'm wanting to fall into a blissful sleep! That is until Poppet's infernal kisses wakes me at 6 am tomorrow as well!! Ahhh
